About me

My name is Alisa Tsykhotsky and I am an EFT practitioner combining EFT tapping as well as Compassionate Inquiry, meditation, breathwork and visualisation.

Personally, I was born in Sochi, Russia, raised in Stockholm, Sweden and since 2007 I have been based in London. In June 2023 I moved to Stockholm again, for personal reasons. I work with clients in both English and Swedish.

I have lived experience of adapting to a culture through the lens of a first-generation immigrant and growing up as a refugee in Denmark, and then Stockholm since the age of 5. I have had to accept and work through my personal history and trauma of growing up with the fear of never belonging, where the issue of identity (confidence, self-esteem) has been at the forefront. In 2012 I experienced a two year-long period where I suffered from vertigo, a condition which made me constantly dizzy and sick, which retrospectively were linked to anxiety and transitioning from safety to uncertainty. I tried acupuncture once, which helped, but if I was aware of EFT tapping at the time, this would have opened up a new level of understanding. EFT tapping has a tendancy to bring us mental clarity, calm, and acceptance and help us to work through existing limiting beliefs that keep us stuck and fearful.

What about my professional background? I hold an MA in Psychosocial Studies, a foundation in Group Analysis, and a BA in Sociology, as well as having completed training in coaching, mental health and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Mental Health First Aid. I have completed my Level 2 in EFT and I am an accredited and certified EFT practitioner registered with EFT International.

I have worked alongside the NHS and CMHT to support high risk individuals in the field of mental health and have led projects working with refugees and asylum seekers in need of transitional support where advocacy was necessary. I also worked with the homeless community in Newham, London, overseeing prevention and awareness activities designed to bring change to residents’ lives from a holistic perspective, as well provided support to individuals suffering from addictions to drugs and alcohol.

Since 2017 I have worked primarily in Higher Education with students in need of psychological and emotional support as both a Mental Health Advisor and more recently as a Health and Wellbeing Manger at the University of Sunderland in London, Canary Wharf.

I finished studying Compassionate Inquiry with Gabor Maté in February 2023 which is a unique trauma-informed and somatic psychotherapeutic approach, especially effective when practiced in combination with EFT tapping.

“The purpose of Compassionate Inquiry is to drill down to the core stories people tell themselves – to get them to see what story they are telling themselves unconsciously; what those beliefs are, where they came from; and guide them to the possibility of letting go of those stories, or letting go of the hold those stories have on them…

That’s what Compassionate Inquiry is.” Dr. Gabor Maté

I’m available as an EFT practitioner to work with people across the world, via Zoom. I work in English and Swedish.

In August 2023, I joined the Swedish company called Aumla as their expert health coach and health strategist and I work part time as a psychosocial counsellor at an English School.

My why.

My aim is to understand each unique client’s core beliefs and needs, and to safely hold space for the individual to process their triggers, memories, patterns, blockages that are stopping them from living a healthy and balanced life. By which, I mean, to live a life more present, conscious and compassionate, with a renewed sense of understanding of ones body and an improved sense of relationship with oneself, irrespective of past experiences, existing diagnoses or the pain one is enduring, as I believe our suffering is possible to recover and heal from.
